This young Hispanic lady felt that she was prematurely aging was saggy cheeks and loss of her original "heart-shaped" face of youth. She came to Dr. Randal Haworth, one of the world's premier facial plastic surgery experts located in Beverly Hills, seeking a comprehensive plan to bring back youth and sensuality to her face.
Of note, she had undergone a previous rhinoplasty with untoward results including a pinched asymmetrical tip and an "inverted V" deformity. Dr Haworth was planning to perform an endoscopic mid facelift (performed through an incision in her temple hairline and in her mouth), utilizing a bioabsorbable Endotine ST™ device to elevate and maintain the lift of her sagging malar fat pads on her actual cheekbone. The device generally dissolves within 8 to 12 months. The advantage of such a device is that it decreases the swelling and recovery time and provides better symmetry then when a surgeon utilizes sutures only to perform the midface lift.
Being a rhinoplasty revision specialist in Beverly Hills, Dr. HAWORTH performed the secondary or revision rhinoplasty through an open technique. He employed the patient's own cartridge for grafting material to correct not only the pinched tip but also her breathing problems. He minimized the excess columellar show which imparted a "beak-like" appearance to her nose preoperatively to instill elegance into the central portion of her face.
To complete the transformation, an upper lip lift, laser resurfacing and fat grafting to her temples and under her eyes were performed. Notice how her marionette folds and the soft tissue crowding around the corners of her mouth have been diminished.
Three-year follow-up photographs are presented. Not only is rhinoplasty one of Dr. HAWORTH favorite procedures to perform, but he is also a world renowned expert in minimal incision facial rejuvenation procedures such as an endoscopic brow lift and an endoscopic midface lift. He has performed endoscopic surgery in South Korea, Middle East and has lectured to his peers on the very subject.
